  • Peabody Hall - Miami Univeristy 701 Western College Drive Oxford, OH, 45056 United States (map)

The Belk Lecture is sponsored by Miami’s biology department in honor of Ethel Belk, a Miami botanist from 1929–1968. This year’s lecture is titled How does the pollinator system work? and will feature Dr. Robert Raguso. The event is free and open to the public.

Lecture Information
Floral scent, the focus of Dr. Raguso's research, is a key sensory component of plant-pollinator communication and is a major chemical expression of biological diversity. The process of pollination is at the rich biological interface between insects and plants. Dr. Raguso explores details of the pollinator system.

Speaker Information
Dr. Robert Raguso is a professor at Cornell University. Dr. Raguso studies plant-insect interactions from molecules to ecosystems. He is an integrative and comparative biologist with an interest in the chemical senses.
