Forest Run MetroPark Wildlife Preserve Area

This scenic preserve includes creeks, woodlands, prairie, meadow and wetland habitats that support a variety of resident and migratory wildlife. A raised observation deck offers views of the prairie while trails meander through the woods, meadows, creeks and wetlands. Joe Dumyahn, Environmental Projects Coordinator for MetroParks of Butler County will be our guide for this outing.

If you would like to follow our trip leaders as they drive from Oxford, meet at the TJ Maxx parking lot located at 550 South Locust Street in Oxford at 8:30 am. If traveling directly, the destination address is 1810 New London Rd., Hamilton, OH 45013. Please arrive at 9:00 am. Travel time from Oxford is approximately 30 minutes. Please bring a personal lunch if you would like to join us for an informal picnic mid-day.

All are welcome on AMV field trips. Please join us even if you are not an experienced birder. Good walking shoes, personal water supply, insect repellent and sun screen are recommended for the terrain we may encounter on these outings. For the foreseeable future, AMV field trips will continue to comply with the best available guidance for minimizing transmission of the Covid-19 virus. This will require the cooperation of all participants. At present, individuals who are fully vaccinated will not need to wear masks.
